Make your way down the East hallway to the center which is a massive computer room. Missionaries anxiously wait to help you do your research on-line including using Ancestry.com and other subscription sites free. Microfilm and viewers are available. Classes on New FamilySearch, and other research FH topics are regularly taught. Each second Saturday is a Boy Scout Merit Badge Workshop at 11 a.m. Each third Sat. morning from 9-12 is a family history seminar. (None in Dec.) November's is especially insightful:
November 20 -- 9:00 a.m. - Keynote Address -
"What's New at FamilySearch" - David Rencher
The FS Center is a popular place among youth groups although any RS, HP group, etc are certainly welcome. Groups are shown a presentation, then taken to the back computers to do indexing.
(Everyone must have an LDS account beforehand.)
During M-F lunchtime, you're welcome to join employees in purchasing an inexpensive lunch in the cafeteria (soup, salad & sandwich bar, grill, entrees) or take your own. There's a microwave and vending machines.
Take a trip to the
Riverton FamilySearch Center.
You'll enjoy yourself!
Note: The LDS church purchased the Intel building barely northeast of the 13400 S Bangerter intersection. Most of the four-story building has been taken over by church techies. While visiting there the "Joseph Smith Papers" techs told us of the website just being released that will have every page on the internet. Many exciting things are happening in the tech world . . .
